Hi Garry,
The MIT IT-Partners group is having a half-day conference on 25-Apr-2002.
One of the desired topics for the agenda is a talk on private Athena
workstations.
Would you be willing to give a short talk (short == 15 minutes) on private
Athena workstations?
Possible topics you could cover are: pluses and minuses of private Athena
as compared with either public Athena or vendor distributions, special
configuration of groups of systems, remote access and management, mailing
lists / AFS groups / KNFS groups and DCM access control or KNFS
credentials, or whatever you think is best. The audience is sys-admins
from all over campus, in both academic and administrative areas, so this
might be a very good way to promote private Athena usage in these areas.
Please let me know by early next week.
Thanks,
--Tom
