some fairly terse notes.]

1. Tasks for Derek
We discussed possible tasks for Derek to work on as well as criteria
for what are good tasks to assign to short-term contract employees.
Criteria are:
* Limited, well-defined scope
* Low spin-up time
* Easily transferrable back to the permanent staff when done (also,
easily reviewed)
So a task like "look into the feasibility of using Eiffel for new
Athena programs" would be a bad choice, because it is of undefined
scope, probably involves a lot of spin-up, and mainly results in a lot
of personal knowledge which is not easily transferred back to the
permanent staff.
2. Patches for Netra X1
Need to be propagated to Athena cell (no patch release required). We
should double-check that the public workstation OS check won't eat
machines after the changes are propagated.
3. Read-only mh-e buffers (suggest [2315])
We agree with Ron that this would be a good idea. We don't want to
spend resources on maintaining this as a local change. We will
forward on Ron's suggestion to the emacs maintainers.
4. Mozilla
We discussed [I believe] how the software release team is not
comfortable with offering a different web browser on Athena Unix than
on other platforms. So even though we might be happier with Mozilla
since it's generally more up to date (which, in the case of Mozilla,
is pretty important), we will probably go with Netscape 6.
5. Monthly status
We discussed items for the monthly status report. See release-77
[3126] for the resulting status report.
