Fwiw, I received notice from SGI that they have fixed the bug in which
the control key modifier is not recognized when using the X Input
Method. (This is the bug that compelled us to disable xim support in
gtk). The fix will appear in 6.5.16, which is due out in May. Trying
to convince them to issue a patch is a waste of time, so I am not
going to bother. If we really want to fix this, we can try to pull
the relevant binaries out of 6.5.16, but we should probably just live
with xim support disabled.
