I believe Bill beat me to the answers for these questions.

I don't think Netscape has permanent rot - that's a little strong - but we
must remember that, now and for the foreseeable future, Netscape will
always be a read-only shadow copy of Mozilla - essentially just like
Mozilla but a trifle staler and with absolutely no one listening on the
developer end.

Understand, I have not PERSONALLY checked out how well Mozilla runs, what
hurdles there are to getting it installed and working for all *nix
platforms, etc. Bill has been looking into that; any spare time I've had
for browser research has gone into continued checks on Netscape 6.x.

But my feeling is that Mozilla cannot possibly ever be worse than
Netscape, and holds a far higher chance of actively becoming better.
