1. Patch release plans

Next patch release should go to the Athena cell on Monday the 21st.

2. IRIX package issue

Our plan is to negative-ACL the web servers.

[We later found that this doesn't seem to work. Instead, we'll use
htaccess files.]

3. EC3 followup

No one was interested in having one.

4. Hesiod-free updating on Linux

We confirmed that Linux machines can take updates without Hesiod
information.

5. EECS wants control over the timing of their updates on Linux

This can be done with a cluster.local file specifying a different
location for syscontrol.

[I believe this has been communicated to EECS via mitchb.]

6. Kereros configs

We would like to provide Kerberos config files for the native Red Hat
Kerberos installation, so that people can use Kerberos without buying
into large parts of Athena. We considered making them into an RPM,
but that has some problems; settled on distributing them as raw files
via a web page.

Greg will prepare a set of config files (modified slightly from the
Athena ones) and the paths they belong in, and hand that off to
Heather, who will decide where to put them on the web and create the
web page.

7. Publicizing rules of release

Bill was concerned that we don't currently publicize the principles we
follow for full releases and patch releases, which may lead to
unnecessary concern by some customers. He will take care of writing
up a web page enumerating the principles.

On a somewhat different note, Greg will tell Heather about the RPM
exception list so that she can document it in the PWOG.

8. sun4m

We determined that per the EOLs of various machines, we do not need to
support sun4m machines in the Athena 9.1 release.

We will support IRIX for Athena 9.1 but not Athena 9.2.
