Hi,
The failure also occurred on my Optiplex GX150, athenaphobia. I was going to ask someone about it when I first saw it, but nobody was around and I hadn't heard anything else of it, so I chalked it up to network failure and just fixed it. I'm very sorry I didn't report it. If it's useful, feel free to poke at the machine... I've added amb to /etc/athena/access and amb/root@ATHENA.MIT.EDU to /root/.k5login. If anyone else wants access, let me know.
