The non-standard flat panel works fine.
It's the very standard Extron interface that could not longer see the signal.

See, the flat panel (or any other local monitor) gets its signal from a buffer
(which does no other processing) and this output works fine. The actual
interface is one more step downstream, and it does do a little processing,
though it's supposed to leave the signal more or less alone.

I bet you Solaris 8 has something to do with it. I'll bet Solaris 8 has
different video drivers than release 7. Betcha big bucks.
