I've read your Mail client transition plan, and I am VERY pleased with it.
At Owls on monday we were discussing Email. There were many questions
that we felt needed to be answered. We shied away from answering them
because we did not feel like we had good answers.

Your proposal does a very good job of answering the whole slew of
questions surrounding the transition to pine.

Your proposal lays the groundwork for an inexpensive migration to an
appropriate new Email client for Athena.

I would definitely like to move ahead with implementing your proposal.

I see the following next steps:
	1. See if release-team has further issues with your proposal.
	2. Bring the proposal to Owls for its blessing from a strategic angle.
(I've discussed the proposal with Tom Thornton. He's not had a chance
to review the proposal in detail, but is currently expressing the
opinion that it's in the right ball park to move forward with.)
	3. Publish our intended workplan for this effort.
	4. Listen for any input from stakeholders we may have forgotten to talk to.
	5. Do the pine thing.
	6. Evaluate just what exactly SHOULD go in the GUI mail client.
	7. Do the GUI thing.
