Hi,

Two Sun issues came up very recently:

1. We are having Maple graphics problems on Suns that appear to be OpenGL
related. I strongly suspect, but am not certain, that this is due to our
Sun OpenGL being out of date. Sun has a distribution page for this at
http://www.sun.com/solaris/opengl, and the current release is 1.2.2; I
believe what we're running is 1.2.1. I followed a couple of links to a
download page at
http://www.sun.com/software/graphics/OpenGL/download/dload-122.cgi
and think that what we want is the 52.9 meg combined 32 and 64 bit runtime.
Note also that the page at
http://www.sun.com/software/graphics/OpenGL/1.2.2/sysreq.html lists
required patches. I think that we don't have at least some of these to
the rev required (I'm not sure if we need to support all the graphics
types they refer to on that page).

Could someone please look into this and install 1.2.2 with appropriate patches
in a coming patch release if at all possible? I'd also like to request that
part of the task list for major Athena releases is to check this OpenGL
page and install the latest OpenGL as part of the release.

2, In attempting to install the latest OpenOffice build on Suns,
the installer halts and won't proceed until a couple of required C++
patches are installed- these are 108434-01 and 108435-01, neither of
which we appear to have. Could these also be installed?

                                     Thanks,

                                            Alex
