I suppose I may not get a vote, but I'm going to speak my mind anyway. I
understand the arguments on both sides, and a lot of the potential problem
seems to be that it's a change. I would like to see it happen - the fact that
zephyrs covered others that I was reading is a large contributor to what made
me stop using zwgc, and I can't really see suggesting a different zephyr
client to the non-power user.
Suggestions for how we can help avoid confusion and still make the change:
- Put it in the user-level release notes (may already be done)
- Put it on the posters we're going to put in the clusters (I haven't seen
them yet, so I'm not certain if it's an appropriate type of thing to go there)
- Write an OLC stock answer on how to change your zwgc's behavior
- Contribute a page to SIPB's Inessential Zephyr document, maybe in the hacks
section, explaining how to change your zwgc's behavior
I suppose I'm volunteering myself for the latter two suggestions if people
think they're good ideas but don't want to do it themselves. Of course, it's
the case that I currently don't know LaTeX more than very superficially, but
I'll figure it out or ask for help if I have to. I'm going to be away from
this Friday through the following Sunday, so if this is what's decided, I may
not be able to get the two document updates done before we go public, but
certainly long before orientation.
