The public release of Athena 9.0 is scheduled for July 24, or, if we
deploy one platform per day (which may not be necessary since ~150 Suns
will not be updating), July 24, 25, and 26. Athena 9.0 is based on
RedHat 7.1.
We are hopeful that the Athena Public release will go out on schedule,
and that there will be no last minute gotcha's to further delay it.

If you deploy a GX150 with the usual, default, cluster of Public before
that date, it will get Athena 8.4 installed (which is based on RedHat
6.1) and will work just fine except for sound. Then on or about the 24th
of July, it will auto-update to Athena 9.0, and get the GNOME-based new
Athena user interface and working sound.
