1. Sunblades
All the current issues should be covered by applying patches (which
will be done in next week's patch release), except for the
XDrawStipple bug which isn't critical. Patches are scheduled for
9.0.10.
2. knfs
Should be done in a few more days.
3. xlogin background
We will change the background to the same light blue we use for the
default login, following a suggestion from mitchb. We are pretty sure
this will look okay because (a) we're already using something similar
on IRIX, and (b) we already have a lot of white against that
background in the default login.
(Scheduled for 9.0.10.)
4. Tooltips
Nobody really likes them. We will turn them off. (Scheduled for
9.0.10.)
5. pine
We discussed pine for a while and decided to take it out of the
release. It wasn't really adding value for anyone to be present in
experimental form, and would screw over sipb locker pine users by
surprising them. It can come back next year with proper attention
paid to transition concerns.
6. Classics, sparc 20
These machines will break under 9.0, but they are ancient and
unsupported, so we will ignore that.
7. Release notes
User release notes have been updated for early (though that won't
appear until tonight), and will be updated some more for third party
software changes.
