I've communicated with Allison Dolan saying that we've gotten resource
starved to the point where 9.0 is in jeopardy, and that I think we
should hire a contractor to help out.
Allison replied:

I realize that I've made a whole bunch of assumptions going to Allison
with such an assertion. I want us to discuss at Release Team whether
hiring a contractor will actually help, and if so, to brainstorm who we
might invite in.
I think the thing ghudson's note drives us to think about goes beyond
the need for a contractor now. It involves pondering whether IS wants
to fund Athena as an end-user environment for which AUI is appropriate.
I'll be meeting with Jim Bruce, probably sometime next week, to discuss
that, and to propose a vision for Athena as a 1-1 platform.
