1. Status
We're about halfway through alpha.
Some major bugs have been fixed, though Abby ran into disturbing
problems with Linux and Solaris. Greg is looking into the Linux
problem.
We can install Sunblades idiosyncratically (using a rarp daemon on the
same subnet). miki is still working on propagating our changes to
inetboot so that we can install them normally.
Greg hasn't gotten started on release notes yet. This is bad.
2. PWOG
Heather has finished a first update. She is currently finishing up a
second update.
3. zathrun
The current menus use "zathrun" (a construct in the AUI locker that
zephyrs you when a program is not available for the current platform).
We need to put it in the release or come up with something better.
Greg will work on this.
4. Linux installer
Andrew has an installer which he thinks works for both 8.4 and 9.0.
He will be adding some new functionality soon.
5. PR for new release
We will probably be doing some posters, and maybe some mentions in
some Tech ads which TPS will be running anyway.
6. Linux and X -nolisten tcp
We discussed this issue, and decided not to do it right now because we
don't have enough time to do it right (e.g. we wouldn't really want to
consider an xlogin option to restart the X server without -nolisten
tcp). And it's not very satisfying anyway because it's only one
platform.
