This is a reminder that the next Athena patch release (8.4.23 for
IRIX, 8.4.24 for Linux, 8.4.25 for Solaris) is currently scheduled for
tomorrow evening, April 23. Changes in this patch release include:

	* A buffer overflow was fixed in xntpd.

	* A buffer overflow was fixed in the krb5 ftpd.

	* On Linux, sysinfo has been rebuilt so that it isn't so picky
about kernel versions, and should be working again.

	* On Linux, the version of rpm was updated to version 4.0.2,
and the database will be rebuilt in rpm 4.x format at boot
time, in order to create an upgrade path to Red Hat 7. This
change involves adding the rpm-build, db3, db3-devel, and
db3-utils RPMs and upgrading the rpm and rpm-devel RPMs.

	* On Solaris, rmmount and /etc/rmmount.conf are modified to
make volcheck work properly (one of Sun's patches broke it).

If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".

Please send any questions or comments to release-team@mit.edu.
