Which mouse for the GX150?

Every time I look at machine configuration, some no-brainer starts to
get complicated. As things stand, we have two choices to implement our
Linux Athena mouse principle:
"All Athena documentation and applications assume a 3 button
mouse. For this reason we strongly urge replacing the default mouse with
an inexpensive 3-button unit."
1. Dell-standard upgrade to the IntelliMouse: The Microsoft IntelliMouse
is a standard option on the GX150 for an additional $24. The
IntelliMouse has one of those 'scroll wheels'. Stock RedHat 7 knows how
to treat pressing the scroll wheel as a middle mouse button, but does
not have support for acting on the scrolling.
2. Special bundle with the Logitech Mouse: Dell will produce a part
number for an Athena configuration with the el-cheapo Logitech 3 button
first-mouse. But doing this takes two weeks. (Once the part number is
created systems take the same amount of time to ship as ordinary
configurations.)
I am poised to order 5 test systems, and to advise Brian Murphy what
systems to order for others.
Do we want to:
Buy early systems with the IntelliMouse?
Buy early systems with a 2 button mouse and throw it away when we buy
the Logitech unit from NECX?
Buy early systems with the Logitech 3 button first-mouse and tolerate a
2 week delay?
Buy all systems with the IntelliMouse?
My recommendations:
1. Do NOT tolerate a 2 week delay for test systems. Order them next week.
2. Equip Cluster systems with the Logitech 3 button first-mouse to make
them less likely to be stolen.
I just can't get my brain around whether or not to have Dell customize
with the mouse or not. What do others think?
