1. Plan changes
In order to shed work, we will not be doing a krb5 1.2.2 integration
for this release.
nautilus is out of the build for now, since it was interfering with
getting an alpha release out. It might go back in... but probably not
if it only builds on Linux.
8.4.21 should go to the dev cell tonight.
2. xss
Greg has back-ported a change from xscreensaver 3.22 which may help
reduce (but probably not eliminate) screens locking up. (The change
is not to blank the screen if the mouse or keyboard cannot be
grabbed.) It will go into the forthcoming patch release.
3. NOREMOTE change
We won't be changing the NOREMOTE default; there isn't a lot of
pressure to do so, and breaking access_on on public machines could be
inviting support problems.
4. pine
As noted in the bugs meeting, we will be surprising some number of
sipb locker pine users by installing a version of pine in the path
which (a) defaults to pointing at users' IMAP folders, and (b) doesn't
have auto-inc support. (Users will still be able to use the sipb
locker pine, of course, but they'll have to figure out what is wrong
and be told to run pine out of the sipb locker.)
It might be good to collect usage statistics from the sipb locker to
measure the impact. jweiss will investigate.
5. Linux packages
We should not be installing Red Hat packages which duplicate software
in the Athena release. Andrew will revisit the package list.
