It would be nice if the IS-Athena release included
the tcpdump and nfs-utils package. I realize the
nfs-utils package may be somewhat of a hairier issue
and will address it second.

I am aware that tcpdump is available in various places
in afs space, however, including it in the release
would be very useful since tcpdump is typically useful
in scenarios where the network isn't functioning properly
so the machine may not be able to get to anything in afs
space. (The redhat package also doesn't seem to depend on
anything not already in the release, given that installing
the rpm seems to only be a matter of typing rpm -ivh rpmname).

As far as nfs-utils goes, currently the ability to use NFS
to export filesystems under Solaris exists for private
workstation owners (via mkserv nfs or mkserv knfs). This
functionality on the linux side would also be useful.
The default kernel that is installed with the release (2.2.16
currently) has the ability to serve nfs already compiled in,
all that is required is the nfs-utils package. Given that
many linux systems use IDE and IDE drives are significantly
cheaper than SCSI drives, I expect that there will be demand
for exporting filesystems under linux. It seems that offering
private workstation owners the option of exporting filesystems
(via mkserv as done with solaris) would be useful.
