Just an FYI for the release team. It is a possibility that
these hanging issues are reltaed to the screensaver issues.
I think its important enough to relay this info. in case this possibility turns out to be true.

Subject: Workstation in 1-390 crashes

Twice now I've come into room 1-115, activated the Athena workstation
with the KVM switch, and found that the machine had crashed with the
screen saver locked on the display. To reboot I had to power cycle
the machine using the power switch on the back of the machine; the
front panel button did nothing. Please have a look at it.

   I assume this got forwarded to me since it looks like it a software
defect; this is almost certainly the failure mode we've seen in the past
of the Ultra 10 crashing card when certain xss modules display on it.

   I don't have any better ideas now than the last time this came up;
We'll be upgrading versions of both Solaris and xss over the summer, and
this might have some effect. Otherwise, people should be told to either
not leave themselves logged in there, or skip the automatic startup of
xss (set skip_xss in .environment).

   I have some suspicion that the problem affects Elite 3d Ultra 10s
more than Creatoe 3d Ultra 10s, but no hard evidence. You can tell thg
that replacing the machine won't do anything for the problem, though.
