1. AUI
Heather outlined the documentation changes (mostly to Working on
Athena, small changes to software docs, eventual changes to dotfiles
document). She'll need a bleeding-linux machine to consult.
Gary Dryfoos will also need to make changes. He'll probably also need
a bleeding-linux machine, since an alpha machine would only give him
three months of lead time (in theory, anyway).
2. Upgrade plans under third/
We definitely want to upgrade xscreensaver.
We'd like to upgrade BIND, Kerberos, and GNOME. They are all close to
releases (9.1.1, 1.2.2, and 1.4 respectively) which we want to wait
for.
bash and nmh may want to be upgraded.
Upgrading to openssh is probably kind of pointless until there is a
standard for Kerberos support in ssh 2.
3. Pine
Pine is pretty much set. We might want to turn the sent-message
folder back on.
4. OS status
Red Hat 7 is progressing; Andrew is reading in the CDs (the important
ones are done) and is making package lists.
Solaris 8 install is done for sun4u (with 64-bit userland); sun4m
install is waiting on a disk (which Garry has, so that should go
forward). We still need to see if binaries built on sun4u will fail
on sun4m, and figure out what to do if so.
