I'm going to disagree; I think pine would be a better choice for our
environment. I started both applications today; I like to consider
myself a fairly competant user, and mutt gave me some trouble and I
exposed some bugs, but with pine I was able to send and receive mail
easily.

pine can read mh style folders, and its IMAP support appears solid.
As a bonus, many users (grad students, and other people who have had
UNIX shell accounts elsewhere) will be familiar with its use because
it's so common. It's certainly the piece of software I've heard the
most requests for from new users.

It does seem like the sort of client sophisticated users will
outgrow, but such people can generally fend for themselves, and
shouldn't have problems finding mutt in a locker, or configuring Gnus,
etc.

I'd like to see us include pine in the next full release.

Garry
