I took a look at the big emacs bug today ("comp" hangs in text mode on
Linux, ever since Thomas's backported security fix went in), and ran
out of non-tedious ways to debug it. I'd like to plan to upgrade
emacs to 20.7 for the IAP patch release. We don't like to bump
upstream versions in the middle of a release cycle, but I think it
will be fairly low-trauma in this case, and it's fairly important that
we fix the bug.
