According to a Sun Product Intro I received on 17 November,
Excerpts from mail: 17-Nov-100 SUN PRODUCT INTRO (Q1FY2001.. @Sun.Com (14142)
> Sun is replacing the existing Ultra 5 configurations that have a 9-GB
> internal hard drive and a 32x CD-ROM with new configurations that
> include a 20-GB internal hard drive and a 48x CD-ROM.
Excerpts from mail: 17-Nov-100 SUN PRODUCT INTRO (Q1FY2001.. @Sun.Com (14142)
> FOR ALL SUN CUSTOMERS AND PARTNERS EXCEPT THOSE IN EUROPE: All current
> Ultra 5 systems with 9-GB drives and 32x CD-ROM drives. will transition
per the following schedule:
> Last Order Date: January 12, 2001
> Last Ship Date: April 13, 2001
It would probably be a good idea for us to get either a system or a
drive in-house and make sure the disk partitioning portion of the Athena
install is prepared. If a machine shows up in W92, miki can do the
partition work and ghudson can do the testing.
Since the last order date is January 12, we have about 30 shopping days
to certify the new configurations, and modify the saws-config.html page.
QUESTIONS:
Who will take responsibility for getting one of these new systems?
Who will take responsibility for getting the saws-config page updated?
