There are 54 .mwmrc files in world-listable athena cell home
directories by my count. Of those, I recognized 18 of the names (and
I think most of those people don't actually use mwm). So, there are
on the order of 30-40 people who appear to have customized mwm.
This factoid can eventually inform the decision of whether or not to
retain mwm as the default if the user's homedir has a .mwmrc file.
(An argument in favor of just switching, if it won't inconvenience too
many people: it might be nice to desupport mwm in a few years, if no
one seems to be using it. motif, afs, synctree, transcript, and
voldump are the only five packages still in the athena release for
which we have to protect source and binaries, and there are currently
visible ways out of everything except motif.)
