mounting ZIP drives under linux

Enabling zip drives is as simple as a "modprobe imm" clause to athena-ws,
but then one loses using mmount (in mtools) without either being root
or some permissions change either for mmount or /dev/sda.  None of these
seem like pariticularly the right thing, but I think the status quo
(making the user su to mount the zip disk) is closest.

Is there another option I'm missing?
