Somewhat, a while ago; my conclusion (which I think was the same as
yours) was that after loading imm and some housekeeping with regard to
file permissions, It Just Worked. Unfortunately, I had my head in the
AUI cloud and failed to submit a patch for 8.4.15. I'll look at it again
ASAP; I expect I'll nail down a patch tomorrow and propose a linux-only
8.4.16 for 13 November.
We can talk about this more tomorrow; perhaps a patch release could be
rushed for 6 November if it's a burning issue, as I'm fairly comfortable
with the stability of the 2.2 kernel.
