1. Solaris installer
The problem: When drvconfig runs, it uses the IDE device number from
the kernel, not from name_to_major. The 8.3 and 8.4 install miniroots
boot with different values of this device number.
Solutions:
1. Make two versions of name_to_major for 8.3 installs
2. Point bootparam on some machine at old miniroot
Ops doesn't like the second solution, so we will go with the first
solution. We need to modify phase3 and the athena boot script in the
8.3 release to deal. We don't need a patch release, though.
2. PWOG status
Update might be ready around mid-September.
3. SIPB modified Red Hat install
Intended to create a Minimal Standard Athena machine.
Some of the new Linux update support would be helpful here. This and
other issues gives us incentive to put out a patch release soon. Greg
will try to get a patch release out to the dev cell this evening, out
to the Athena cell in one week.
4. AUI
Heather requests periodic AUI updates so that TPs doesn't get taken by
surprise with documentation impact.
