1. Linux maintainer transition

Thomas's last day was going to be earlier this week, but recent news
suggests he is out this week and may be in for some number of days
next week.

2. Patch release?

There are no critical issues currently, so we can wait a while for
8.4.11.

3. Minimal standard Athena

There will be a new zero-cost Athena offering which will be offered in
the interest of reducing the load on the net-security team. It will
not ensure access to third-party software which has concurrent license
limits. We need to do a few things in the short term in order to
offer this:

	* alexp needs to make a list of affected third-party software
	  programs and wrap them.

	* The affected third-party software packages will acquire a
zephyr message mentioning the need for fee-paying in order
	  to use the software.

	* The bootkit instructions should discuss the third-party
software issue and point at the relevant Athena web pages.

	* The bootkit instructions should ask people to let us know
via a web page if they install minimal standard Athena, just
to get an idea of the usage level.

We briefly discussed alternatives to the web page for finding out
about minimal standard Athena installations, but didn't come to any
particular conclusions.

4. Solaris install issues

The 8.4 miniroot can't install 8.3 for now, even if you teach it how
to run phase3 from the 8.3 system packs. The IDE devices don't get
created properly due to some weirdness of drvconfig.

In the short term, we can change the default on one install server
(this requires changing the cnboot binary on tkl so that Ultras and
floppy-installed Suns point at the same machine by default). In the
long term, we can hopefully fix the problem, although miki has her
doubts that it can be fixed in a non-error-prone way.

[Ed. note: post-meeting, miki observed that we can run bootparamd on
any arbitrary machine pointing at a miniroot on solar or solar2, so a
possible long-term option is to change the default miniroot to 8.4 on
both install servers and run a bootparamd on a third machine which
points to the 8.3 miniroot on solar or solar2.]

5. IRIX X server bug

SGI claims that IRIX 6.5.10 will fix the X server bug Dan Winship
found. They won't provide any corroborating evidence (bug
description, test cases), so we can't be very sure.
