An alternative is to have them do for Linux what they do for Irix: be
required to have exactly the right monitor and CPU and graphics card,
and hotline has to key in which it has at bootup time.

However, the current install is not monitor dependent. It will
configure no matter what the monitor is, because we tell Xconfigurator
what the monitor is already. My guess is that the video card is not
being autodetected, and I don't know why that might be. I'll be able
to know more tomorrow.
