Summary: Change in Hesiod cluster information for "alpha" and "beta"
clusters on Tues Dec 13. This should have no effect on your
workstation, but if it does, please let me know.
I'm sending this mail to all contact people with Athena workstations in the
"beta" clusters. Beta-test is scheduled to start next week, and in praparation
for this, we are making the beta clusters use packs from our new cell,
dev.mit.edu (instead of the rel-eng cell, where they've always been).
After tonight's Hesiod propagation, the cluster information for all clusters
that use packs in the rel-eng cell (namely, the 'alpha' and 'beta' clusters)
will be changed to use packs in the dev cell. While in principle this should
make no difference in the behaviour of workstations in these clusters, if you
do notice anything odd with workstations in these clusters tomorrow, please
let me know. Thanks very much, and watch for mail next week about the
beta test itself.
