I will obtain the part number, and pricing for the hardware upgrade.

At this point my confidence of whether the hardware or software solution
will end up being the workable one changes daily.  I will pursue both
until we know for sure one works for us.

At this time I have requested updates  from SGI on the prognosis for
both the hardware and software solutions.  But nothing definitive yet. 
I'll push for an update by the end of the week, but it may be that
nobody knows anything definitive in that timeframe.
