The discussion which was flagged about eolcr not working with emacs19
seems to be the only complaint any listed.... Does anyone understand the
implications of changing to emacs19 will have on users .emacs files?

I.e. will they all work or are there are thigs which are known that will
break? What does eolcr rely on that is not compatible with emacs19 -
is it likely that elisp hackers may be bitten because of this?

In the past, alot of effort was put into trying to recognize potential
problems. In one release there was a (something like)
x-mouse-foo-bar-baz which changed and affected some people - but it was
understood... Does anyone have a handle on this?

Is consulting willing to help people rewrite their .emacs files (some
of which are copied from others and the new owner may not understand
them?)

(Personally, I am for updating to newer versions of software, but some
sort of analysis is needed)
