Invading /usr/local for the sake of Andrew is probably a bad thing.
Setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH for everyone in the Athena dotfiles, pointing
to the andrew locker, is definitely a bad thing.
As annoying as it is, you're going to have to make front-end scripts
which set LD_LIBRARY_PATH when users run the ez programs. There's no
other answer which doesn't place a penalty on everybody for the sake
of ez. (Well, modulo building from source.) This is essentially what
Alex has to do for binary installations of third-party software in
lockers.
