We recently discovered an error made during the creation of the Athena
8.3.25 patch release for Solaris. To rectify this error, we will be
putting out Athena 8.3.26 for Solaris only on the evening of Tuesday
February 22.
The only functional change in this release is that workstations should
actually get Solaris patch 105529 (to prevent recursive mutex locking
panics) as advertised for the 8.3.25 patch release.
To take a patch release update by hand after it is released, do a
console login as root and run:
/srvd/update_ws
If you take this update by hand, or if you are watching while the
update happens automatically, you may see your machine panic with the
message "recursive mutex_enter". Simply let the machine reboot and
(if you are updating by hand) restart the update, and all should be
well.
