I think these are no problem.  Basically, the Athena install will be a
RedHat install plus an install of the "standard" RedHat packages, plus
all of the Athena packages.

If you run the RedHat installer yourself, you can easily control all
the things on your list (including an install to multiple disks); if
you install the correct list of packages, then you will automatically
get a fully Athenized standard machine.

I haven't yet heard back from kcr, but I expect we can do better than
that by using the standard Athena install disks and bypassing the
"kickstart" feature when the user so requests, leaving you at all that
configurability.
