In Attendance:	Dot, Mike, Anne S., Matt, Craig, Carla, Kevin, JJ, Bruce

This meeting was spent making a first pass through the complete list of
release suggestions, stating for each item (where possible) the
following:

  Effort	[1-Easy, 2-Medium, 3-Difficult]
  Understood	[1-Completely Understood, 2-Needs Clarification,
		 3-Needs to be investigated before we can decide]
  Candidate for January release
  Whether it is a "behind-the-scenes" change or not
  
This discussion resulted in the formation of several lists. 

Items which need clarification for some reason:

  * Build X clients with newer versions of X11 and Motif 	
  * AFS 3.3 servers						
  * man page for Athena man					
  * Compiler support for Solaris
  * Support for Xntpd servers
  * Discuss fixes
  * encrypted passwords out of /etc/passwd
  * Use local disks better
  * /bin/login umask fix
  * Printer support
  * AFS patches
  * More OLC support
  * Hook for user on deactivation list
  * AIX 3.2.5

Items requiring a policy decision:

  * Sound 
  
Items rejected:

  * Shutdown with zshutdown_notify

  * Interoperable Talk
	[done in 7.7K, with minor bug]
  * Downdate support
	[not a release issue]
  * Merge Acl library
  * Tech Documentation
	[not a release issue]

	[not a release issue]
  * Merge JET libraries
	[not a release issue]
  * Ksh support
  * DCE support
  * Xzewd
	[support issues]
  * Comp bug on DEC
	[Do believe it is a bug;  Dot to talk to Reid]

The next meeting will take place on Thursday, November 3 at 10:00.
