1. 8.3.14

Going to the dev cell tonight, to athena Monday night.
The enscript and ftpd patches might go in.

Greg will send mail today. If he forgets to send mail Sunday night
  someone should poke him.

2. inetd

Might be fixed in 8.3.14, but we're betting not.

3. Indy "ec0: carrier lost"

Bob will look into it and/or report it to SGI.

4. update.log in athinfo

We only want it for cluster machines, so Karl's patch is fine

5. docs

The release notes don't say "early" any more.

Heather will add a note about the netscape default version change.

6. athena-desktop

The athena-desktop team has declared itself to be a subcommittee of
  the release-team.

We'll be using GNOME. We're prototyping the integration of GNOME into
the Athena source tree in the aui locker.

Thomas is thinking about an Athena Theme (one that will be easy for
  existing users to upgrade into).

7. quota

Default quota will probably go up before freshmen arrive. More news
  to come...

8. Private Workstations

We should deal with this for the next release.

  Principles:
"don't blow away user configuration if at all avoidable"
"make it possible to take small patch releases without rebooting"

Dan has been thinking about this some.

If we do both athena-desktop and private workstation fixes, the next
release should be 9.0, not 8.4.
