Now that Athena 8.3 has been released, I'm planning on setting up
xlogin MOTDs for pre-8.3 machines warning of Y2K non-compliance.
Since these messages will appear on linux and NetBSD machines, I was
wondering if the SIPB had any statements of compliance or
non-compliance for various linux and NetBSD releases. I'm also
planning on customizing the messages at least a little bit, so knowing
which versions point to which motd file in /etc/athena/login/Xlogin
would also be helpful. We still need to determine some information on
how badly IS supported platforms running older releases will deal, so
there isn't an amazing rush, but I'd prefer not to be waiting for the
SIPB stuff once the IS stuff is ready. It might be worthwhile to set
up a web page the MOTD can point people at.
