A walk around 4-035 found:
* one machine which had updated then crashed so that it had the amber
power light, and I had to remove the power to make it reboot. It
came up fine, and the log indicated that it had finished it's
update. It was m4-035-2, which is the one connected to the video
screen.
* one machine that didn't update because it had a filled disk, and
turned out to also have eited shared libraries, and something weird
mounted. I had to remove power to take it down (after clearing
/var/tmp), but it came up and started to take the update after that.

* three other cases of natural causes, all of which are updating now
