/etc/athena/version correctly had the 8.3.13 line (with a reasonable
date stamp), and /var/athena/update.log had the "system will reboot in
15 seconds" line at the end of it.
we can of course retrieve these files from any of the machines I
listed, if there's something else I forgot to notice in my paraphrase.
for completeness, I missed a machine in my previous report - it's
whatever's on the third floor of rotch.
