1. krb conf files out of the release
I suggested we should move krb.conf, krb.realms, and krb5.conf out
of the release into /afs/athena/service like the CellServDB.
It's too late to do this for 8.3, and if 8.4 has the krb5 1.1 DNS
stuff in it, it will be much less useful. So we punt.
2. pmcd in public 8.3?
pmcd (gaping privacy [not security] hole on Irix) will be disabled
in 8.3.14. Do we want to get it into the public release?
General consensus is that it can wait a week or two after release,
to prevent us from having to delay, as long as it is removed before
term starts.
3. 8.2.20 problem?
Two machines in Karen's lab too 8.2.20 and then failed in some
unknown way. We don't have any solid data on this. Bill will talk
to them.
4. Documentation
Heather asks if we need to do anything to the early release notes
besides removing the word "early". Greg has LPRng stuff from Mike
that he needs to add. That's about it.
5. "/srvd considered harmful"
Some stuff about killing /srvd in future ports, the best/most
supported way to track /srvd local on current ports, etc.
6. Policies
We came up with some policies a few weeks ago. Where did they go?
The stuff about The Right Way for customers to report release bugs
(including urgent machine-breaking ones) is in [1837] in
release-team. Heather said she'd write it up for the release web
page.
It looks like we didn't actually agree on any policies beyond
obvious stuff like "breaking machines is bad".
