Early test (8.3.7) is ready from my end. The OS volumes have not been
touched recently, but the system packs in the dev cell have been
rebuilt from the athena-8_3 branch and tested, and will be released at
some point after 5pm today.
So ops can go ahead and make another copy from the dev cell read/write
volume.
Unfortunately, we haven't had a release-team meeting in a while to
decide if we're ready to go to early. Some issues (none of which I
think are show-stoppers):
* Heather may need another day or two for the early-release
poster, and we need cluster to deploy it. I don't think we
actually got a poster out last year, so being a couple days
late this year probably isn't a catastrophe.
* The sipb xscreensaver doesn't work on IRIX (it tells people
to run xss-button).
* We don't have the afsuser locker set up for IRIX.
