Hi!

Here are the notes from today's meeting.

In attendance: Dot, Bruce, Carla, Matt, Mark, Kevin

Discussing some new items:
1. Pulling the moira client from the release. -- Yes, leaving an
"attach and run" for mailmaint, listmaint, etc. Is blanche affected
also? Kevin points out that this is contrary to the recommendations of
the Lockers vs. Packs group. However, moira really does need to change
more frequently than we do releases currently, but we don't want to
break things for everyone that uses listmaint or mailmaint.

2. lpd filters -- yes

3. OLC server (sync sources (olcdev) to binary & source tree) -- we
believe that this is important and should happen, but not for the
release. Resources need to be allocated to this.

4. Zephyr, pl4, again -- Yes, if audited and understood

5. snmpd on Suns bug -- yes, if Tom as resource

6. zshutdown_notify bug -- yes

7. syslog -- someone needs to look into this -- what is the fix, and
which clients are affected?

8. expunge -- there are implementation issues. If a specific idea
comes up, let Dot know. We can't make a decision about this until
then, and thus can't recommend it at this time. Conditional no.

9. x11r5 clients -- we couldn't list what all the differences are, but
they're already running on the Suns and RS/6000s, so going with the r5
clients on the decstations would make things more consistent.

For Dot's ppt report:
- will give info about all items which were proposed, and their status
- will mention non-release release issues (mkserv locker, vanillaizing
the AFS servers so that we can run Transarc binaries out of the box)
- scheduling

Dot had some lovely schedules created in SAS.

Next meeting: next Friday, 11:00, probably in E40-382.

For future reference: We've got not one but two weddings going on
between now and the 7.7 release! Everyone else should get married
before the next release team is formed, so we don't have to schedule
around it :-)

Questions, comments, etc -- let me know!
