I was unable to escape from that action item. Here are my notes:

Possible initiatives for Athena 8.4:

Improve Athena Desktop
Quick brainstorm candidates: Gnome, KDE, CDE (which is unavailable
    on some platforms), homegrown.
If this work is done, it should be completed with LOTS of lead time
so that there can be extensive review and very good documentation
well in advance of roll out.

Private Workstation Work
less stomping on contents of local disk
merge rather than overwrite of configuration file entries.
new version of sync-tree that incorporates track's functionality.

A follow-on to Zephyr

Maybe implement some stuff in Java instead of C

continue eradication of imake

support for bash (shell)
This may be doable for 8.3

----

Also mentioned after Mike left and SIGNIFICANT to mention in the minutes:

We officially entered Crash-and-burn phase of Athena 8.3 roll out.
This time ON TIME!

Mention was made that we will need a beta draft of the user release
notes in two months.

cheers,
