Hello, all.
We're going to have an important item on the agenda tomorrow...
What to do with 8.2.17?
Jeff has noted that a "minor release" that doesn't allow people who don't
take the upgrade to continue linking is a major stumbling block for private
workstation owners.
Some possible solutions:
1. The "fix me up" script that greg has developed
2. 8.2 -- change this to a major release with separate packs
3. Back out that patch and hope other things don't break
4. Delay the release
There are at least two "meta questions" associated with these:
1. What is the accountability or responsibility for the release?
2. Who advocates for private workstation owners?
Last week we said we would focus on Solaris 2.6. Depending on the time, we
may at least get started on this tomorrow.
1. Bill's Road Trip -- what's new, what's bad, and so forth.
2. Miki's comments
3. Greg's scheduling
4. Anything else?
Mike
