I'm pretty sure that at least a couple of the names changed (timrom and
newcen), but other than that, I don't know.
Yes, these changed from dvi2ps-style to dvips-style. If you were
using dvips-style before, they should all be fine.

I don't know. Chad is probably the person here who knows the most about
the new configuration.
Well, that Chad guy is often off in left field, but I think he's right
on this one. :-) I sent in a medium-sized explanation to testers in
respone to the first draft release notes; the short form is:
The files are now in subdirs of /usr/athena/lib/tex/macros. To get
various tex things to search these subdirs, you need to either:
o tell it to search the subdirs, I believe by adding an extra
slash to the end of the path specification. I haven't tested
this; this is something bert told me.
o tell it to include the standard include path, specified via a
blank path element. The most common usage is to append these
defaults to the end of the search path by appending a colon to
the end of the TEXINPUTS.

To the best of my knowledge, the sipb xdvi is broken and it's been
reported to them. At least, I believe that I reported it.
The sipb xdvi is indeed broken, w.r.t. interaction with the athena
release. I dealt with the issue this morning, by moving the sipb
binaries out of the way. When bert gets back (an interesting story in
its own right) I assume he'll either remove those binaries or replace
them or something similar. Until then, any problems with collisions
should be fixed now.
Sorry I can't be more helpful,
What she said.
