This is a somewhat dicey issue.  If someone actually does get mail
sent to their workstation rather than to a PO server, then the
vacation program should work just fine, though I haven't tested it.  I
guess if we wrote a front-end script we could have it check for
evidence of mkserv mail or other evidence of a locally running
sendmail daemon, but that kind of test would be seriously error-prone.

So, the current situation is broken--and the breakage is not
necessarily limited to vacation; any system documentation which
assumes that the mail path is through the workstation could be
misleading--but I'm afraid of trying to fix it.

(Actual support for vacation functionality for users who get mail
through the PO servers would have to originate from the network group,
since no part of the Athena release is consulted when mail comes in
through that path, not until incorporate time.)
