      iii) syslog on DECstations

	   The problem here is that syslog generates a lot of traffic in an
	   ineffient way, and the problem is inherent to Ultrix syslogd.  
	   The known solution is to use the BSD syslogd;  whether this is
	   acceptable is another question.  (rel-eng???)

Actually, what needs to be done is to re-compile syslogging clients
with the BSD syslog library (and header file), there is nothing wrong
with the current syslogd.  However, ther have been requests to replace
the syslogd on Suns and RS6K's with one that knows how to zephyr, but
this is only relevant for private workstations (There are some of us
who would like it tho. :-).
