The Athena 8.2.9 patch release is scheduled to be deployed on Monday
night 8/10/98 for all platforms. Changes include:
* krb5 ticket forwarding works in sshd. We promise.
* A couple of memory allocation bugs were fixed in sshd.
* telnetd supports a message in /etc/prelogin displayed before
the login banner.
* telnet -l username doesn't disable the default options.
* telnet -k realm works for krb4 realms.
* A file descriptor leak was corrected in access_off.
* Monitor power saving is disabled at login time, since it
seems to annoy people.
* The "gray" bitmaps used by dash and console have been
corrected and updated.
* The wtmp and wtmpx logs are now kept for 10 days instead of
for 150K.
* On Solaris, the lp emulation script has been improved to
handle the functionality required by the native xdpr (and
possibly other programs).
* On Solaris, discuss gets the screen width instead of
assuming 80 columns (it already did so on other platforms).
* On IRIX, mwm uses point to focus by default.
* On IRIX, the /etc/athena/rc.conf comments have been
corrected.
* On IRIX, the /usr/athena/bin/perl symlink has been pointed
at perl 5 instead of perl 4.
