1. We discussed Host Explorer. Basically, we expect the dial ups with a
hack to occur, then Host Explorer new version will be distributed, at which
point everyone will upgrade their copies. Then we'll remove the hack from
the dial-ups and sit back to wait for complaints. When they complain, dan
will mock them.
2. Are we ready for 8.2? Yes.
Did a 8.2.8 go to early? It went.
What about the install stuff for the SGI? It's okay.
02 public machines, are there any? Apparently not, so
Jonathon may hold up on their release.
New bugs -- patch them in 8.2.9
release notes -- Heather out. Jonathon words in testers.
Bill Cattey will check with Jeanne to get someone to fix.
3. Supporting SoftWindows? Relatively easy on SGI, cost
plus development on sun. We need to investigate what
packages are desired and make sure they run in the
environment.
We should probably also reopen PCUE (PC Unix environment)
investigations.
Mike Barker will be out-of-town next week. Greg Hudson
will run the meeting. If there are munchies, Bill will
have to get them.
I have a note that says "check status next Tuesday".
Unfortunately, I didn't write down which status so I'm not
sure what we wanted to check on.
